I grew up in Virginia, spending hours in the woods behind my house, which inspired a deep appreciation for the natural world. I began drawing around age 4, inspired by the supernatural worlds described in fairytales. I have not stopped drawing since, and continue to be inspired by the natural world and worlds imagined, often placing the human form or man-made objects in detailed flora and fauna studies. I am often struck by the fleeting nature of human achievements in the face of nature's enduring vitality. In my work, I invite contemplation on our place within the grand tapestry of existence, where perhaps humans will not emerge as the final inheritors of a world destined for perpetual renewal.
I work primarily with oils, but also enjoy working with watercolors and creating collages.
Currently, I reside in Charlotte, NC.
